Open Call: Sexual Personae

Explore the ways you feel empowered in your gender, or your lack of gender. Reflect on how the sex you were assigned at birth has shaped your identity. What challenges have you faced? What privileges have you held? When did you begin to identify with (or resist) certain gender norms or societal expectations? How has your sense of empowerment evolved?

This call is open to all interpretations: religious sexual shame, sex work, queer joy, sexual fluidity, whatever your experience may be.

Your submission can take any form: writing, visual art, performance, music, film, or something completely unclassifiable. No restrictions. Just as sex and gender defy limits, so should your expression.

Be bold, be vulnerable, or be quiet and questioning. Who is your sexual personae.

• Show will be mid July, exact date TBD

• Submit up to 5 pieces of work

• In your submission please include: Title, Price, Materials, and a short bio about yourself, the work, and how it aligns with the theme, please also include your name, where you’re from, where you‘re based and your pronouns

• If it’s a group piece, please only submit one time

• Show will be in Berlin, outside artists are welcome at the expense of the artist

• Artists are responsible for delivering and picking up the art

• if your piece is an installation, intstructions on installing must be included

• No size restrictions or requirements

• if its a performance, please include videos and photos for reference
